The Truth About "Accreditation"

In the United States and many other regions, hypnotism is a self-regulated profession. There is no mandatory governmental licensing or "official" board. You will often see schools claiming "Accreditation" from various Hypnosis Associations; it is important to understand the following:

The "Internal" Association: It is a common—and deceptive—practice for schools to found their own "Association" or "Governing Body" under a different name to "accredit" themselves. This creates a false loop of authority designed to inflate their prestige and justify higher tuition costs.
Financial vs. Clinical Value: "Accreditation" is largely a financial transaction. Schools pay for a "seal," and those costs are passed down to you. These seals hold no legal weight and do not grant you the right to practice.

The Membership "Milking System"

I strongly advise practitioners to be wary of organizations that require ongoing membership. This is often a predatory business model designed to keep you trapped in a cycle of continuous, unnecessary investment.

No "Leased" Certifications: At the International Hypnosis School, once you earn your certification, it is yours permanently.
